6/14 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center, 10 am-1PM, low tide
rising. sunny, 80F.  At 10 am, female osprey was on nest with 2 chicks
(hatched June 11 and June 12).  At 11:05 the male brought a whole fish to
the female and she proceeded to feed both chicks.  At 11:15, an intruder
osprey was diving at the nest while the female was feeding the chicks.
Male stayed on the nest with the female and chicks, both calling until the
intruder left.
 At 11:30, male was on the nest eating the fish and female sitting on the
chicks.  12:25- female on nest, male on perch and intruder comes by again.
  Lots of calling and intruder left after it circled a few times.  (Perhaps
a chick from past nesting).
On the marsh:  1 Black skimmer- skimming low over the marsh , 1 Great blue
heron-whacking and consuming several crabs, 32 Mute swans, 4 Great Egrets,
2 Snowy egrets, 3 Ring billed gulls,  and 10 "peeps" flew by.
On grounds: 1, Tree swallow,  1 Warbling vireo, 4 mourning doves, a
mockingbird, 2 Cardinals, robins, Common grackles,  starlings and House
Purple martins in the gourds and flying around marsh.
Lots of human visitors.
