"Also take a look at his two page article in The Connecticut Warbler, Volume 3, Number 1 (January 1983) to get further gleanings of his oneness with nature."
Which you can find as a pdf file in the archive of that publication on the COA web site.  Right now it includes all issues from inception through 2014.

The pdf:http://www.ctbirding.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/CTWarblerVolume03.pdf
Each pdf covers all four issues of a year.  The article by de la Torre is under 3:1 within the pdf.

Julio de la Torre was one of a kind, a wonderful person, outstanding field naturalist and trip leader, great educator, captivating lecturer, with a unique way of expressing himself and sharing his passion for owls and other birds.  His obituary (link below) gives a suggestion of the range of the man.  Also take a look at his two page article in The Connecticut Warbler, Volume 3, Number 1 (January 1983) to get further gleanings of his oneness with nature.  He wisely ends this article with "a warning about disturbance”, annually a hot button issue on COA’s ctbirds website.

Julio will be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
