10/14 – 19 birders braved the weather (yes we got wet) this morning for a walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park led by Flo McBride and myself.
Total of 37 species seen featuring extended, close looks a a very co-operative Clapper Rail, Merlin, Northern Harrier, 2 American Golden Plover in with group of Black-bellies and several Dunlin. Lots of Yellow-rumped – but no Yellow-throated Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler or Gray Flycatcher – great day in Connecticut, indeed!
