10/13- New Haven - Lighthouse Point Park Hawkwatch - 70 migrating raptors
counted: Osprey 6, Northern Harrier 2, Turkey Vulture 8, Bald Eagle 1,
Sharp-shinned Hawk 6, Cooper's Hawk 27, Merlin 4, Rough-legged Hawk 1
(light morph), Red-shouldered Hawk 1, Red-tailed Hawk 3, Unidentified
Accipiter 3, Unidentified Raptor 8.
It was Tree Swallow day.  They swirled over the watch all day and reached
murmuration counts at 8 a.m.
Small migrants:  3,215 Tree Swallows, 20 Double-crested Cormorants, 61
Canada Geese, 108 Blue Jays, 8 Pine Siskins, 1 Dickcissel, 50 Cedar
Waxwings, 12 Cowbird sp., 195 House Finches, 65 Common Grackles, 112
Red-winged Blackbirds, and 1 Common Raven.  In the park:  ring-billed
Gulls, Laughing Gulls, Downey Woodpecker, Mourning Dove, Palm Warbler,
Red-bellied Woodpecker, American Crow, Northern Mockingbird, Red-winged
