Falconer Rodney Stotts will present at the Yale School of Forestry November 7; he is one of only 30 African American master falconers in North America and a former drug dealer who credits bird conservation with saving his life/setting him on the right path. He specializes in using his birds to bring conservation concepts to at-risk and troubled youth, and he has been the subject of a number of articles -- including from the BBC and NPR.

Rodney will be speaking at the Yale School of Forestry about his life and how he went from being a criminal to a conservationist. He will also bring a number of his birds and talk about them, and he will perform a live falconry demonstration after the end of his talk. If all goes as planned, National Geographic will also be there to videotape the proceedings.
