On a drive along the southeastern Connecticut coastline today I had the following:
Niantic Bay, East Lyme:
2 Surf Scoters
200+ Bufflehead
many other ducks, but mostly Mallards and Black Ducks

Pataguansett Marsh, East Lyme:
1 Rough-legged Hawk, light phase kiting over the barren, frozen marsh.

Great Island, Old Lyme, from various vantages:
1 Red-shouldered Hawk
3 Turkey Vultures
Not much else. This marsh is also entirely frozen and barren.

DEEP Marine HQ, Old Lyme:
4 Fox Sparrows among a plethora of other sparrows in a bare patch of ground near the buildings
7 Scaup of mixed species under the RR bridge
2 Long-tailed Duck
9 Common Mergansers
Many other ducks in the open water here

Fort Saybrook Park, Old Saybrook:
8 Ruddy Ducks
8 Surf Scoters
Many other ducks. Great lighting for photography here in the afternoon

Ocean Beach Park, New London:
1 King Eider. Likely the same immature male from Harkness a couple of weeks ago. Just off the rock jetty with about a dozen Common Eiders
1 White-winged Scoter, off Middle Rock with other Scoters and Common Eider
~8 Black Scoters, Off Middle Rock

Bluff Point SP, Groton
3 Fox Sparrow, Bluff Point proper
1 Bonaparte's Gull, Mumford Cove area
~24 Scaup of mixed species, Mumford Cove area

eBird checklists linked above (hopefully that worked)

Good birding,
Dylan Pedro
