2/17 Orange 9:15am-9:50am
At the Old Tavern Rd baseball fields there was a pair of Red Tailed hawks
copulating in a tree. This location has had an osprey nest on a light post
for the past 4-5 years. The Red tails were harassing the ospreys last
year, apparently both species nest there.
At the small industrial pond off of Racebrook Rd were 10 mallards-
and at Indian Lake there was a pair of Hooded Mergansers, 3 Red Breasted
mergansers, 27 Ring billed gulls, 12 American Crows, 10 mallards, 2 Mute
Swans, 36 Canada Geese (2 with yellow neck bands H038 and H020
each having a silver band on their right leg, and 2 American Robins.
