With the warmer weather opening up the inland lakes I decided to check out Bishops Pond in Meriden as well as McKenzie reservoir and North Farms reservoir in Wallingford. The first things noticeable are the singing song sparrows and all around the lakes Redwinged Blackbirds were perched up high and sTaking an early claim on their territories. On the lakes some Wigeons are arriving in small numbers to go along with the Mallards and Black Ducks. At North Farms there was a lone Common Goldeneye and three Wood Ducks. Nothing unusual found.
