9/ 5 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 10am-1PM. high tide,
receding, 80F, partly sunny.
At 10 am, female osprey was on perch and juvenile flew onto nest. No fish
observed being consumed. male appeared around 12;15 on nest calling.
On marsh: juvenile Yellow crowned night heron, 7 Mute swans, 14 DC
cormorants flew over, 3 Great Egrets, 17 Black bellied plovers on mudflats
as tide receded.
On grounds: 1 Hummingbird, 1 Song sparrow, , one bird which I believe
(with ID help from Frank Mantlik) was a juvenile Eastern Wood Peewee
(overall grayish like a catbird bird), smallish, pointy bill, yellow gape,
with 2 gold/buffy wingbars in evergreens on side of building.
