[CT Birds] Friday at Lighthouse Point Park

9/7 - New Haven - Lighthouse Point Park Hawkwatch - 53 raptors migrating:
37 Osprey, 3 Northern Harriers, 1 juvie Bald Eagle, 2 Cooper's Hawks, 6
American Kestrels, 2 Merlins, 1 Peregrine Falcon, and 1 Unidentified
falcon.

Small migrants included: 1 flyover Snipe, 120 Red-winged Blackbirds, 70
Bobolink, 400 Cedar Waxwings, 13 Chimney Swifts, 12 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers,
23 Canada Geese, 10 Cormorant sp., 9 American Goldfinches, 9 Barn Swallows,
115 Tree Swallows, 1 DICKSCISSEL, and 2 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds--one
seen through the scope perching on a snag!

In the park were Carolina Wren, Blue Jay, Kildeer, 3 Great Egrets,
Red-breasted Nuthatch (Thank you Sol Satin), Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Mourning Dove, Northern Flicker, 2 Black-crowned Night Herons (Thank you
Howie Sternberg), Northern Cardinal, Herring Gull, Great Black-backed Gull,
Ring-billed Gull, Rock Pigeon, Eur. Starling, a local Cooper's Hawk and
local Osprey with fish.
