Wondering about the shorbird migration away from the shore? The
numbers of migrating Ruby-throated Hummingbirds passing through now?

8/23 - Canaan, Canaan Valley Road just north of Moses Mead Road -- 4
Sandhill Cranes in field on west side of Road.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO RESPECT PRIVATE PROPERTY, always of course, but
particularly in this area as I have received a caution on this one.

8/22 - South Windsor, Vibert Road -- There was a huge flock of about
130 BOBOLINKS in the first field past the marsh; 4 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS

8/23 - Rocky Hill meadows (c 10 a.m.)-- juv. BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER
with c. 35 Least Sandpipers and c. 60 Killdeer. Birds were on a dirt
swath where sod was being actively cut. Some often fed just ahead of
the very slow-moving sod cutting machine. This is just south of the
model airplane field. Thanks E.J.

8/22 - Westport, Sherwood Is. S.P. -- 1 BLACK VULTURE flying over
treetops of west beach lot with 3 TVs at 1:45pm.

8/22 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows 8:00-9:30am -- 10 Pectoral
Sandpipers in field across from dirt bike track and next to model
airplane launch area and in field with sod newly removed.
