12/07 - East Hartland -- 5 Pine Grosbeaks in the trees in front of the
Hartland Elementary School (on Route 179 just south of Route 20).

12/07 - Derby, Osbornedale State Park -- WESTERN FLYCATCHER finally
appeared around 2:00 PM after a morning of fruitless searching by
several birders. It had moved from the area it had been seen
previously, and was found on the opposite (south) side of the ponds,
toward the east end where the trail goes into the woods, and appeared
to have flown been coming from the edge of the woods.

12/07 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- 42 RED CROSSBILLS in the
pines around the site of the former main pavilion. This the area
directly opposite the main entrance, on the far side of
the entrance traffic circle. Also 4 Purple Sandpipers, 3 Bonaparte's
Gulls.

shopping center west of Yale Boat House (between F Street and Cedric
Ave) -- 3 REDHEADS, 2 drake at least 1 hen with Ring-necked Ducks.

thistle seed feeder, early to mid-afternoon.

12/07 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 26 RED CROSSBILLS in
the pines near the West Parking Lot, 1 COMMON REDPOLL, 7 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS near the nature center, at least 6 FOX SPARROWS in cedars at
south end of camping area. Lots of waxwings, unidentified finches and
robins flying around camp area before 9 AM.
East Haven, Proto Drive -- 1 COMMON REDPOLL, COMMON RAVEN,
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW.
Derby, downtown -- 2 BLACK VULTURES.

12/07 - East Haven, Proto Drive -- 9:30, 8+ Common Redpoll past where
the road narrows, 2/3 of the way past the feeding station in birch
trees. Also 1 White-crowned Sparrow at feeding station.
New Haven, Lighthouse Pt Park, Morris Creek -- 1 drake Eurasian Wigeon
in with American Wigeons and American Black Ducks.
