Note: The only report from birders looking for the Western Flycatcher
at Osbornedale SP today was negative, they did NOT find it.

12/08 - Stamford, LI Sound off Stamford Ave -- 4 KING EIDERS are back
off Stamford Ave. They drift west as the tide goes out, and can go
beyond the point and out of view (no access on west side).

12/08 - East Hartland, Walnut Hill Road (intersection of route
179/20) -- 6 PINE GROSBEAKS feeding on small crab apple tree at home #
120. It's worth checking all roads in this area!
12/08 - Enfield, South River Street boat launch -- 1 BARNACLE GOOSE in
with about 200 Canada Geese.
12/08 - Canton, Meadow Road -- 1 immature NORTHERN SHRIKE.

12/08 - Goshen, intersection Rt 63 and Rt 4 -- 9:10, 2 PINE GROSBEAKS
eating the berries on the ornamental trees along the Rt 4 side of the
bank.
Goshen, Hageman Shean Rd -- 12:00, 3 PINE GROSBEAKS in an apple tree
with old fruit, about half way between East St N and Rt 63.

bushes between road and marsh -- YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT

12/08 - East Haven, Proto Drive, at the Feeding Station -- one female
COMMON REDPOLL, on trees and ground in the area, 10:30 am.
Madison, backyard feeders -- 6 or more PURPLE FINCHES of both sexes
(these have been around a couple of weeks) and about 5 PINE SISKINS
of both sexes, late morning.

12/08 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 15 RED CROSSBILLS in
the pines near the West Parking Lot. 1 SNOW BUNTING and 2 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS in a flock of about 50 horned larks at the Nature Center
parking field.

Bloomfield yard -- immature YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.
