 From Tom Fiore, Kristine Wallstrom:
12/11 - East Hartland, Rt. 179 just south of Rt. 20 jct. -- at least
12 Pine Grosbeaks, feeding at crabapples in front of elementary school
next to town hall, then drifting across 179 & south 50-100 yards, the
flock also stopping to feed in a tall nearby spruce. (thanks to Noble
Proctor for the better close views)
12/11 - Canaan, Under Mountain Rd., 0.5 mile south of Cobble Rd. --
adult Northern Shrike, ~25 Common Redpolls, 5-6 Purple Finches, Common
Raven.
12/11 - Goshen, Hageman-Shean Rd., dead-end going south from sharp
bend -- 12 Common Redpolls, several Purple Finches, & many other
birds.

12/11 -  East Hartland -- (1:30 pm) small flock of Pine Grosbeaks on
Anderson Rd.

 From Fran and Tom Holloway:
12/11 - Old Lyme -- Lieutenant River Lane, off Ferry Road and Rte 156,
past Funeral Home, YELLOW BREASTED CHAT in thickets on left, 9:00 a.m.
Madison, Hammonasset  S.P. -- AMERICAN BITTERN, in tidal pool adjacent
Nature Center parking lot, about 10:00; several SNOW BUNTINGS in
parking lot mixed in with horned larks; one  PURPLE SANDPIPER on
jetty.
Madison backyard -- PURPLE FINCHES and PINE SISKINS of both sexes
continue.

12/11 - Norfolk yard -- flock of approximately 25 Common Redpolls.

12/11 - East Haven, Proto Drive -- 25 Common Redpolls in the last
birch on the right at the farthest end of the road.  Note that most
Redpoll sightings here are along the far end of the road.
New Haven, East Shore Park -- 4 very late Northern Rough-winged
Swallows.

12/11 - West Hartford, Reservoir # 6 (route 44) -- 1 first year
GLAUCOUS GULL.

12/11 - Southbury, Audubon Center at Bent of the River -- 6 PINE
SISKINS on and around the feeders, also a beautiful male PURPLE FINCH
and COMMON RAVENS calling.

12/11 - Madison, Hammonassett SP -- 8:45AM-9:35AM, a group of 8 RED
CROSSBILLS, and another group of 4 in the pines where previously
described.

12/11 - Bridgeport, Beardsley Park Pond -- 1 adult Lesser Black-backed
Gull.
Seaside Park -- 1 Peregrine Falcon sub adult heading south to Long
Island; 31 Snow Bunting.

12/11 - Madison, Hammonasset SP -- West Beach, saw the Red Crossbills
with many others, in the farthest west clump of pines behind the
dunes.
Meig's Point, Nature Ctr parking lot -- 1 Lapland Longspur

12/11 - Canaan, RT 44, field under Canaan MT -- 12 BLACK VULTURES
