12/15 - The Greenwich-Stamford Christmas Bird Count which was changed
from tommorrow to today recorded 123 species including: KING EIDER, 2
CACKLING GEESE, RED KNOT, 3 COMMON RAVENS, ICELAND GULL, GREAT EGRET,
8 NORTHERN GANNETS, 7 BLACK VULTURES, PEREGRINE FALCON, 3 SAW-WHET
OWLS, EASTERN PHOEBE, YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 2 RUSTY
BLACKBIRDS, RED CROSSBILL, COMMON REDPOLLS and PINE SISKINS.

12/15 - The following noteworthy species were recorded on the New
Haven Christmas Bird Count: Cackling Goose, Eurasian Wigeon, Lesser
Scaup, Surf Scoter, White-winged Scoter, Northern Gannet, BROAD-WINGED
HAWK, Clapper Rail, PARASITIC JAEGER, Long-eared Owl, Short-eared Owl,
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW, Northern Shrike, Orange-crowned Warbler, Vesper
Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow, Lapland Longspur, Snow Bunting, Eastern
Meadowlark, Baltimore Oriole, and Common Redpoll. The three species
in CAPS were reported for the first time in the 108-year history of
the NH CBC.

12/15 - East Hartland -- 2;30pm, 5 PINE GROSBEAKS (inc. 2+ Males)
feeding in the lone fruit tree outside East Hartland Elementary
School. Observed briefly.
12/15 - Barkhamstead -- 2;30pm, 6-7 PINE GROSBEAKS (inc. 2+ Males)
feeding in the lone fruit tree outside Barkhamstead Town Hall. Town
Hall is located on the right heading north prior to the intersection
of Rt#318 and Rt#181. Occasionally flushed by traffic but returned
several times.

12/15 - Norfolk yard -- 5 Pine Grosbeaks on highbush cranberries,
several Common Redpolls and Purple Finches at feeders

12/15 - Litchfield, Headquarters Road -- 6 Pine Grosbeaks.

12/15 - East Hartland -- 5 Pine Grosbeaks (three adult males, 2
females) mixed in with many Waxwings, at the location reported by
Bruce Finnan yesterday. This is at the baseball field immediately at
the intersection of Rte 20 and Mountain Rd, about 1/2 mile before East
Hartland center. The birds were feeding in the small fruiting trees
near Rte 20.

SPECIES)
