[CT Daily] 12/17/2007 DOVEKIE, Pine Grosbeaks

I don't have details, but there is a report that a DOVEKIE was found
in Putnam, CT yesterday (Sunday) and taken to a rehabber. Stranded
inland after a storm seems to be expected way to encounter this
species in Connecticut.

12/17 - East Hartland, 1115 to 1145AM -- 11 Pine Grosbeaks (2M, 9F) in
crabapple trees in front of town hall. Also, 1 Peregrine low over
I-91 near Trumbull St New Haven about 10AM.

12/17 - East Haven, Proto Drive -- 12:30-1:15, White-crowned Sparrow 1
Gambell's present on and off, seen best when large number of sparrows
were feeding.

NORTHERN SHRIKE, 3 RUSTY BLACKBIRD
Willington, Cowles Rd. -- 1 COMMON REDPOLL coming to feeders

12/16 - East Hartland, East Hartland Elementary School -- about 20
Pine Grosbeaks in the front of the school to the left of the driveway
as you enter and also in the crabapple trees. The school is on Rt 179
just before the intersection of Rt 20, directly across the street from
the post office.

12/17 - Trumbull, 54 Cricket Lane -- 1 Common Redpoll at feeder

12/17 - Coventry, feeders -- Common Redpolls ook over a nyjer
feede. There were at least 6. Also at least 1 Pine Siskin.
