12/19 - Milton (Litchfield township), along Milton, Headquarters, &
Sawmill Roads -- 4 Evening Grosbeaks perched & flying east across
Sawmill Rd., 1 Pine Grosbeak seen calling & flying south from Milton
center down Headquarters Rd., Peregrine Falcon (very rarely seen here)
hunting at Sawmill Rd., Ruffed Grouse, Common Raven, Pine Siskin, 12+
Purple Finches, Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Bluebird, all in Milton,
near center.

12/19 - East Hartland --  9:15 AM, 8 PINE GROSBEAKs in East Hartland
in the pine trees across the street from the volunteer fire department
which is located next to the elementary school at the intersection of
routes 20 and 179.  At 9:45 we proceeded east on route 20 to an area
about 100 yards past the ball field.  At address #100 there were 17
PINE GROSBEAKs including 5 males feeding on berry bushes in the front
yard of this home.

12/17&18 - Yard, Colebrook -- flock of 15-20 Pine Grosbeaks, mostly
females, in highbush cranberry and crabapple trees

12/19 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- 1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, 1 RED
CROSSBILL, 3 AMERICAN PIPITS, 3 FOX SPARROWS, 6 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, 3
SNOW BUNTINGS, 1 RUSTY BLACKBIRD
Old Lyme -- 1 YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT (aforementioned location)

12/19 - Hartford, Riverside Park boat launch -- 1 female RED-BREASTED
MERGANSER (less common inland)

12/19 - Harwinton, yard -- immature BROADWING HAWK.

12/18 - Westport, Compo Beach 12:45pm -- 2 LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 12
AMERICAN PIPIT.  All were present at close range foraging along the
flotsam of the upper beach near the canons.

12/19 - Waterford, Millstone Station -- a Baltimore Oriole flew across
the access road.  Whoever works the powerlines north of Rte 156 on
count day (assuming someone is) may have a pretty decent chance of
turning this one up in there.

10AM-1PM, ROUGH LEGGED HAWK, 2 COMMON REDPOLLS (M&F).
