12/20 - East Hartland -- 7:45 AM, 3 PINE GROSBEAKS in a pine tree on
route 20 just east of the route 20 and 179 intersection (next to the
ball field on the east side)

12/20 - Torrington, Sawmill Hill Rd -- 15 PINE GROSBEAK eating from
apple tree near rd. Not one adult male. Further north by abandoned
building with green door on rt, 2 RED CROSSBILL in tall Blk spruces.
Both females. North towards Winchester Ctr, by barn with cement silo
on left, 7 more PINE GROSBEAK with 1 male. All calling from tall
spruce, then took off to north.

12/20 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 8:45-11:15AM, 1 dark morph
Rough-legged Hawk, 2 Seaside Sparrow on dune above parkng lot, 1 flyby
Common Redpoll.

12/20 - Wilton yard -- Up to 4 Common Redpolls continue at our
feeders- both nyger and sunflower hearts.

12/20 - Milford Point, CACC, Francis Steet spit (aka Piping Plover
spit) at low tide -- 8 American Pipits, 1 Lapland Longspur.

12/20 - Old Lyme, Great Island -- 1 Short-eared Owl

12/20 - East Haven, Proto Drive -- 11 AM, Gambel's White-crowned
Sparrow continues; also 15 Common Redpolls in the birches down the
road.

12/19 - Norfolk, Norfolk Lions Club Ambulance building -- a flock of
16 PINE GROSBEAKS (6 males) feeding on crabapples in front. Around
noon I also found a flock of 5 PINE GROSBEAKS (1 male) opposite the
intersection of East St. North and Hageman Shean Rd feeding on
bittersweet.

12/20 - Milton (Litchfield township) -- 20+ Common Redpolls, 1 Pine
Siskin, 20+ Purple Finches, Milton Rd. & Saw Mill Rd (n. end)
junction, at two homes' roadside feeders, also 1 Pine Grosbeak briefly
heard but not seen.

12/19 - Hamden -- A flock of 15 SNOW BUNTINGS feeding on weed seeds at
Lockwood Farm. Seen throughout the area, though mostly near the
chestnuts by the upper barns.
