BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES.

1/21 - Waterford, Harkness Memorial SP -- 375+ NORTHERN GANNETS
(almost 100% adults, a couple subadults), many streaming east-to-west
but several groups were plunge-diving, 1st winter ICELAND GULL. No
Harlequin Duck while I was there early afternoon.

the unfrozen part of the resevoir at 12:00

1/20 - Hammonassett - 1st-y male LAZULI BUNTING seen exceptionally
well feeding on the grass verge from 8:15am-9:15am. Just before you
reach the entrance to the east beach parking lot, there is a wide
gravel path on the right leading into the scrub. The bird was feeding
out on the grass verge and perching in cedars either side of that
obvious gravel area.
