Extralimital Note: The Western Reef-Heron was reported from the same
location (in Brooklyn) today. See the same sources as posted
yesterday. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN, IT WAS REPORTED FROM NEW JERSEY
BEFORE THAT. Who knows where it might appear next?

Also note that the the possible Red-necked Grebe in yesterday's report
has been identified as a full sized juvenile Common Merganser.

 From Tedor Whitman:
07/07-09 - Bridgeport, Beardsley Zoo, Warthog Exhibit -- A pair of
Black Vultures appeared Saturday morning and remained through Sunday
into Monday flying in and out of the new warthog's exhibit. The
warthogs appear nonplussed except when one of the vultures pecks at
the rump of the smaller hog while it is trying to mud bathe.

From Tim Antanaitis:
7/08 - East Lyme, northern part of Nehantic S.F., 7:00-9:30pm -- 2
WHIP-POOR-WILLS started calling about 8:25pm and 1 ACADIAN FLYCATCHER
heard at 8:58pm (yes, it was very dark and I was very surprised to
hear this after the Whip-poor-wills)

 From Tom Schaefer
7/08 - Canaan, intersection of Boinay Hill Rd. and Sand Rd. -- 1 Brown
Thrasher

 From Joe Wojtanowski:
7/09 - Poquonock yard -- 3 BROWN THRASHER.
