[CT Daily] CT Report 03/31/2007 LITTLE GULL, BLACK-HEADED GULL

3/31 - Milford, Merwin Pt -- 1:25 PM first LITTLE GULL; 2:10pm 2 adult
basic-plumaged LITTLE GULLS and one adult alternate-plumaged
BLACK-HEADED GULL

 From Tony Amato:
3/31 - West Haven, Oyster River -- 3:30 one LITTLE GULL, one
BLACK-HEADED GULL.

 From Julian Hough:
3/31 - Woodmont, Merwin Pt - adult summer BLACK-HEADED GULL 4:15pm
with small group of Boney's.  On water opposite blush trash can and 
evacuation route pole 1/2 way around the one way loop.  No sign of any
Little Gulls at Burwell Beach or Oyster River.

 From Frank Gallo
3/31 - New Haven, Edgewood Park -- minimum of 22 Rusty Blackbirds  (at
least 8 females) feeding at edge of the park road, and in marshy area
adjacent to it, just south of the Pavilion/skate park on the west end
of the  park. 1 Winter Wren near the foot bridge, and 1 pair of Wood
Ducks in the stream  behind the Tennis Courts. The male Rusty
Blackbirds were singing up a  storm!  All of them were in molt, but
some were close to breeding colors with little rust...  

 From Bob White:
3/31 - New Haven, Edgewood Park -- REDHEADED WOODPECKER seen
repeatedly between 8 and 9:30 AM on trees surrounding dog walk.  Red
head feathers more prominent.  Flock of RUSTY BLACKBIRDS present in
the grass and swampy areas.

3/28 - Branford, Branford Supply Ponds -- PURPLE FINCH heard singing
in pines near  orange trail

3/29 - Litchfield, White Hall Rd. (White Memorial's Museum Feeders) --
1 Purple Finch; 4 Fox Sparrows
Winchester, 121 (Laurel Way (Rosgen Wildlife Sanctuary) - 3 Purple
Finches
3/30 - Litchfield, White Hall Rd. (White Memorial's Museum Area &
Ongley Field) -- 8 Purple Finches
White's Woods Rd. (White Memorial's Little Pond) -- 1 Redhead
N. Shore Rd. (Litchfield Town Beach) -- 3 Rusty Blackbirds

 From Dave Rosgen, John Eykelhoff, Renee Baade, et. al.:
3/30 - Litchfield, N. Shore Rd. (Bantam Lake) -- 8 Redheads, 1 Lesser
Scaup, 1 Red-breasted Merganser (uncommon inland)
White's Woods & White Hall Roads (various spots around White Memorial)
-- total of 6 Red-breasted Nuthatches & 9 Brown Creepers, plus 14 Fox
Sparrows,
