10/13 - Westport, CAS Christmas Tree Farm -- 1 hatch-year BLUE
GROSBEAK continues, along with eight species of sparrow, including 1
VESPER SPARROW.

 From Station 43 Big Sit via Jay Kaplan:
10/14 - South Windsor, Station 43 -- tallied a record 66 species.
Highlights included Common Moorhen and Virginia Rail (both heard
calling before dawn in the marsh); also Blue-winged Teal, Purple
Finch.

 From Dave Provencher, Greg Decker, and Susan Gonzales:
10/14 - Groton, Bluff Point Coastal Reserve -- Fly by Red Crossbill
and Pine Siskin. Also 15 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, 50+ PURPLE FINCHES,
and 6 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.

10/14 - Durham, Durham Fairgrounds -- imm. WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, 2
EASTERN MEADOWLARKS

10/13 - Greenwich, Quaker Ridge -- Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
Red-headed Woodpecker, Purple Finch, American Pipit, Rusty Blackbird,
White-crowned Sparrows.

10/14 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 1 BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO 10:30 a.m.
somewhat lost out on the dunes.

10/14 - Stratford, "top soil" farm on Access Rd -- VESPER SPARROW, 7
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS (2 adult, 5 imm.)

10/13 - Lake Waramaug (Kent-Warren-New Preston) -- female LESSER SCAUP

 From Angela Dimmitt:
10/14 - New Preston, Maricostas Preserve on Christian Street off  
Route 202 just north of the traffic light -- several White-crowned
Sparrows, adult and  immature, right in the parking lot.  Also one
Lincoln's Sparrow, Purple Finch, a flock of American Pipits.
