The situation with sightings today of the the possible Pacific Loon
reported yesterday is still up in the air. Today we had many negative
reports, one observer who remains on the fence, and one positive
report with no details. The positive report is assumed to be at Compo
Beach but even that is not certain. Today's report of a possible at
Sherwood Island was retracted.

Today there is only one accepted record of Pacific Loon in
Connecticut. This means any sightings should be as well documented as
possible. Reports to alert other birders should include at least the
location and time, and of course anything of particular note about the
bird. Details about the location would be appreciated.

From Luke Tiller with a large group of birders:

WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS and just after the walk finished a VESPER

scoter inland); juv RED-THROATED LOON
