10/20 - Westport, Sherwood Island State Park, east end -- 1:15-2:00
PM, a " very interesting loon" about 200 yards out.  Watched this bird
in good light at about 200 yards and for a short time at less than 100
yards.
10/21 - same location -- just after 10:30 AM, I believe I relocated
this bird, although much further out for 15-20 minutes.  "This bird
needs to be re-found and very carefully studied."

10/21 - Stamford CIWS:  1 BLUE GROSBEAK continues, 1 ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER, 14 PINE SISKINS, 10 PURPLE FINCHES, 9 species of sparrow  
including 1 VESPER, 1 LINCOLN'S, + a few  WHITE-CROWNS.

and creek, 10:30 a.m. -- two VESPER SPARROWS at barriers flew across
creek toward airport 
Wallingford/Meriden line on Rte 5, Home Depot parking lot -- 3 BLACK
VULTURES circled parking lot, settled in trees across the road.

with about 100 Turkey Vultures, by far the highest number of Blacks I
have seen here at one time.

10/21 - Wilton,  Allen's Meadow -- Dickcissel in the thickets behind
the weedy dirt mounds; also  2 Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers, Blue-Headed
Vireo, many Purple Finches, Red-Shouldered Hawk, White-Crowned
Sparrows (still in good #'s) and flocks of American Pipits.
