From many observers via Dori Sosensky:
10/25 - East Haven, Ora Ave/Proto Drive feeding spot -- COMMON
GROUND-DOVE continues. Times seen: 9:26, 12:30, 2:00, 2:19-24,
3:05-08, 4:04-15, 4:36-41, and 4:52-5:02. (We have no information
from later than that as Dori left.) For some of those spanned times
the bird was in and out. It was being seen more to the right than on
earlier days, walking in from behind a log.
An important note is that tomorrow (Friday) afternoon the water
company is supposed to be installing a new water line to the
warehouse site. My understanding is that they will be ditching and
burying the line in one pass. This can be expected to disturb the
dove. If the job is not completed tomorrow work is not supposed to
continue until Monday. So far everyone at the construction site has
been very cooperative, and nobody has objected to the fact that the
observers have been on private land. We can all hope that everyone
can continue to cooperate.
