4/12 - Storrs, UConn, Glenbrook Road -- BOHEMIAN WAXWING observed for
about 45 minutes between 12 & 1:00. (An exquisitely beautiful bird!)
Madison, Hammonassett State Park -- 2 LITTLE BLUE HERONS, LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHER.

4/12 - Storrs, UConn campus, off Glenbrook Road -- 1 BOHEMIAN WAXWING
in a spruce tree by the CLAS building.

4/12 - Storrs, UConn campus, off Glenbrook Road -- 1 BOHEMIAN WAXWING
alone in the crabapple adjacent to the CLAS building entrance. Seen
from 12:30-2:00pm. It was very cooperative and obliging. Too bad we
had no camera. It was not flocking with the many Cedars on campus and
left its tree when a few Cedars arrived.

4/12 - Storrs, UConn campus -- 1 BOHEMIAN WAXWING. Found by in the
tall trees by the Wilbur Cross Library at 7:20 by Denny Abbott. Later
moved to the crabapple trees on the the west side of the CLAS
building. The bird was present when I left at 8:00 am.

Mansfield, Pumping Station Rd. -- RUFFED GROUSE.

inland). 2nd one in the past week in my area.

4/12 - Wilton, Allen's Meadow -- 4 Wilson's Snipe (1 in the community
gardens, 3 in the flooded brook behind the dirt mounds).

4/12 - Harwinton yard -- 10 Purple Finch, plusheard EVENING GROSBEAKS
in back woods, but did not see.

4/12 - Bolton backyard -- PURPLE FINCH(two males and a female).

4/12 - Somers yard -- several PURPLE FINCHES, 1 COMMON REDPOLL.

4/12 - Portland backyard feeders -- 3 male PURPLE FINCHES, 1 female.
The males' breeding plumage was vibrant.
