From Paul Carrier:
2/08 - Harwinton, yard feeders -- 190+ Common Redpolls in two flocks.
I looked at as many as I could, but they were so very skiterish, and
only stayed at feeders for no more then 1 min at a time.
2/07 - Harwinton, yard feeders -- 60 or so Common Redpolls on and off
all day.
From Bob Bitondi:
2/08 - Pomfret Center -- 16 Common Redpolls
From Judy Moore and Marty Moore:
2/08 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- Orange-crowned Warbler
with Pine Warbler, et al. in the campground c. 11:00 am. No sign of
Western Tanager.
From Steve & Charla Spector:
2/08 -- Milford, Silver Sands State Park -- for the past 2 weeks rafts
of Scaup have been building; in strings & rafts of about 500-1500;
total numbers have grown from the hundreds to presently around 5000
(conservatively) . Most birds remain offshore at least as far as
Charles Island, so they are difficult to count, and very hard to
distinguish Greater from Lesser (presumably great majority are
Greater).
From Dave Rosgen, w/ Duane Tabak:
2/07 - Winchester, 121 Laurel Way (Rosgen Wildlife Sanctuary) - 2
Common Redpolls. Otherwise, there really isn't much around Winchester
and Litchfield.
From Steve Mayo:
2/06 - Bethany yard -- American Woodcock
