1/08 - Norfolk -- 8:30, six Pine Grosbeaks (two males) in the trees at
the Senior Center.  The food supply seems to be dwindling as observed,
but they were still there.  Also two female purple finches.

1/08 - Norfolk -- 8 Pine Grosbeaks in trees at the entrance to the
Senior Housing; 
Barkhamsted, 26 Miner Lane -- 6 Common Redpolls, 2 Pine Siskins;
Winchester, Winchester Business Park off Rte. 20 -- 3 Pine Grosbeaks
in trees front of last building on the street on the right side. No
activity in Riverton.

1/08 - Norfolk, Shepard Road -- 10:45AM-11:15AM, 8 PINE GROSSBEAKS w/
3 males  on crabapple trees at entrance to Senior Housing.

Bunting;  fields between rotary and west parking lot, 1 Lapland
Longspur.

1/08 - New Haven, New Haven Harbor, wastewater treatment plant and  
adjacent harbor -- (2:45 P.M. - 2:55 P.M.) 4 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED  
SWALLOWS; 1 drake NORTHERN SHOVELER (seen in New Haven Harbor fairly  
straight out from treatment plant area at 100 yards and to 200 yards  
from shore).

plant next to the park) -- 2 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS

Marshes, as seen looking east from the bridge) -- 1 adult NORTHERN
SHRIKE, 7 Rusty Blackbirds

happily flying at treatment plant while the Register thermometer
across the harbor read 64 degrees around 2 PM.

NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS.

BREASTED CHAT around 10:30.
Madison, Hammonasett State Park -- 12:15-2:30 PM, Red Crossbills still
in the Pines at the extreme west end of the beach, flock flushed and I
counted  28-29.  1 AMERICAN BITTERN in the marsh grass  by the East
End parking lot.

side.  No luck with Hoary Redpoll in late a.m. in Coventry.

1/07 - Lot W, UConn, Storrs -- The imm northern shrike continues and
was seen by several people during the morning.  It has been in the
trees by the pond at the NW corner of the lot.  At one point we hear
it sing a little.

present in marsh between Exits 8-9 of 1-91. Present for several days.

1/07 - Madison, Hammonassett State Park -- 11 RED CROSSBILLS (about
9:00-9:30 in pines along West Beach.), 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, 2
BLACK SCOTERS, 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, AMERICAN BITTERN (in marsh just
before Willard's Island).
