1/08 - Norfolk -- 8:30, six Pine Grosbeaks (two males) in the trees at
the Senior Center. The food supply seems to be dwindling as observed,
but they were still there. Also two female purple finches.

1/08 - Norfolk -- 8 Pine Grosbeaks in trees at the entrance to the
Senior Housing;
Barkhamsted, 26 Miner Lane -- 6 Common Redpolls, 2 Pine Siskins;
Winchester, Winchester Business Park off Rte. 20 -- 3 Pine Grosbeaks
in trees front of last building on the street on the right side. No
activity in Riverton.

3 males on crabapple trees at entrance to Senior Housing.

adjacent harbor -- (2:45 P.M. - 2:55 P.M.) 4 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED
SWALLOWS; 1 drake NORTHERN SHOVELER (seen in New Haven Harbor fairly
straight out from treatment plant area at 100 yards and to 200 yards
from shore).

happily flying at treatment plant while the Register thermometer
across the harbor read 64 degrees around 2 PM.

Madison, Hammonasett State Park -- 12:15-2:30 PM, Red Crossbills still

counted 28-29. 1 AMERICAN BITTERN in the marsh grass by the East
End parking lot.

was seen by several people during the morning. It has been in the
trees by the pond at the NW corner of the lot. At one point we hear
it sing a little.

BLACK SCOTERS, 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, AMERICAN BITTERN (in marsh just
before Willard's Island).
