1/18 - Coventry, yard -- the Redpolls are back  in my yard in force
since the weather turned colder and snowier again.   Today I finally
counted over 100 -  103 - in my yard at 1 time, and I'm  sure there
are more than that, as they are in and out constantly when the flock
is here .  More often I have between 12 and 30, and sometimes none at
all  for quite a while.  Unfortunately, I have not seen any of the
pale  Hoary candidates recently

 From Lynn James, Dori Sosensky:
1/18 - New Haven, East Shore Park -- 4:15pm, Snow Goose; Intergrade,
almost fully dark adult Snow Goose, head completely white. Seen at the
south end of the park with flock of 20+ Canada

 From Tom Fiore, Pat Pollock, Malcolm Morris, & K. Wada:
1/17 - Madison, Hammonassett St. Pk. -- 9-10 am,  5 Red Crossbills in
western pines at W. Beach parking area, also several Red-breasted
Nuthatches in same pines, 1 Lapland Longspur, with 60+ Horned Larks in
adjacent west field & parking area.
1/17 - Old Lyme -- 1 Yellow Breasted Chat, 12:30 & 1:30 pm, across
from # 17 Lieutenant River Lane in berry bushes next to mailbox.

1/17 - Wilton yard -- Up to 8 Common Redpolls continue at our feeders.
