10/17 - Wilton, Allen's Meadows -- 1 DICKCISSEL (for a site total of 6
so far this fall ), 2 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS (One was a male the
other perhaps a 1st winter female - very dull), 3 VESPER SPARROWS, 10+
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, 4 LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, 120 SNOW GEESE (in 3
skeins), 23 AMERICAN PIPITS, 3 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, 1 WILSON'S SNIPE,
PURPLE FINCHES and PINE SISKINS (mainly flyovers but a few Purple
Finches in the gardens and surrounding trees). 

 From Paul Cianfaglione and Carl Ekroth:
10/17 - Hartford, Cedar Hill Cemetery -- Lots of PINE SISKIN flying
over as well as PURPLE FINCH.  Also, flyover loon that looked like
RED-THROATED..... quick wingbeats and narrow wings.

10/17 - Macricostas Preserve, New Preston -- 50 AMERICAN PIPITS, 12
PINE SISKINS, 1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, 1 COMMON RAVEN.

10/17 - Bridgeport, Brunnel's Pond at the entrance of Beardsley Park
-- 8:00am, single SNOW GOOSE flying in with a small flock of 15 Canada
Geese.

SISKIN eating from swamp alder cones.
10/17 - Harwinton yard -- 1 PINE SISKIN, 1 PURPLE FINCH, 1 RED
BREASTED NUTHATCH, 1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW.

10/15-17 - Durham, Powder Hill Road -- 50+ AMERICAN PIPITS In the
plowed-up pumpkin patch on the west side of the road.

(clambake field), 5 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH,
BROWN CREEPER.

Greenwich yard -- PURPLE FINCH continues at feeder.

10/17 - East Haven, Lighthouse Point Park Hawkwatch -- 12 PEREGRINE
FALCONS, 1 DICKCISSEL continuing in the field across from the
butterfly garden, 18 SNOW GEESE, 1 BOBOLINK (late), 8 EASTERN
MEADOWLARKS, 1 probable RICHARDSON'S GOOSE in a flock of Canada Geese,
107 Pine Siskins, 42 Purple Finch.
