From Chris Elphick
02/03/09 - Storrs (Eagleville yard) -- 4 White-winged Crossbills
(still 100 or more siskins too).
From Paul Carrier:
02/03/09 - Harwinton yard -- 1 COMMON REDPOLL, over 300 PINE SISKIN
(estimate at least 600 Siskin, and possibly more all within sight from
my feeders, my neighbors and in the trees.)
From Don Morgan:
02/03/09 - Coventry yard -- at least 4 Common Redpolls (3 females and
a male) amongst 150 squabbling Pine Siskins.
From Donna Lorello:
02/03/09 - Branford front yard -- White-winged Dove #1 in front under
feeders with seven MoDos.
From Brian Webster:
02/03/09 - Stratford/Bridgeport line, Bruce Pond, (end of West St. off
Hollister) -- @ 6:50am, (1) EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL.
From Luke Tiller:
02/02/09 - Sherwood Island State Park -- between 4 and 4.20pm, a very
vocal and actively feeding flock of about a dozen White-winged
Crossbills. These birds were so intently feeding on low cones they
allowed unbelievably close approach, so much so that I could have
almost reached out and grabbed one.
