NOTE: The daily report will be on hold for the next week or so while I
am away.  As always, you should be reading CTBirds for the latest
information on what is being seen in Connecticut.  The archives of
CTBirds can be found at:

The first of those is easier to read but just the recent messages. The
second is complete going back two years to the start of CTBirds, but a
bit less convenient to read.


Another Note: Since I won't be able to add this to another daily
report before it happens, remember Monday is the COA Windsor Landfill
Gull Workshop.  And I suggest you keep in mind that Landfill means
Garbage, so where appropriate footware.  If the ground, such as it is,
is not frozen hard it can be quite messy, and even if it is frozen You
Never Know what will  be underfoot.

02/27/09 - Watertown, Sand Bank Ave -- NORTHERN SHRIKE continues in
field next to blue ranch house, seen 7:45 am.

02/27/09 - Watertown, Sand Bank Ave -- NORTHERN SHRIKE appeared for
about 10 minutes at  about 10:45 am in the hedgerow to the right of
the light blue ranch style house.

02/27/09 - Wallingford -- afternoon, Graylag Goose resting on the
grass by the main entrance to the MacKenzie Reservoir.

02/27/09 - Stratford, Mill River Country Club -- about a dozen
BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES hanging out in a tree in front.  Only noticed 3
females as I drove by.

 From Patrick Comins:
02/27/09 - Waterbury -- a PEREGRINE FALCON perched up on one of the
billboards at the junction of I-84 and Rt 8 on my way to work in the
morning.

02/27/09 - Waterbury -- PEREGRINE FALCON on billboard north of I-84
just before intersection with Route 8.
