05/16/09 - New Haven, East Rock Park --1 male GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER in
willows on west side of iron bridge.  Also 1 BAY-BREASTED WARBLER at
overlook.

 From Paul Cianfaglione:
05/16/09 - East Granby, Newgate Rails-to-Trails bike path -- 1 male
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER (seen briefly, heard for over fifteen minutes) 
Warbler was located from the Copper Hill Road trail entrance heading
south, on the eastern side of the path.  Habitat is open wet marsh
that gradually turns into short brushy growth.  Habitat along Copper
Hill Road is also worth checking.

05/16/09 - Hamden, Brooksvale Park -- 1 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER and 1
WILSON'S WARBLER.

05/16/09 - Stamford, Cove Island Wildlife Sanctuary -- 1 MOURNING
WARBLER, 1 WILSON'S WARBLER, 1 SWAINSON'S THRUSH, 1 BOBOLINK.
Rosa Hartman Park -- 1 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH, 3 SWAINSON'S THRUSH.

05/16/09 - Stratford -- Stilt sandpiper near entrance to airport on
Lordship Blvd causeway.
Woodbury/Roxbury town line, Good Hill Farm Preserve -- Clay-colored
sparrow singing along east tree line, heard only.  Also an Eastern
Meadowlark.

05/16/09 - Stamford, Merrit Parkway -- Common Nighthawk.

05/16/09 - Stratford, Long Beach -- 10:30, 3 BLACK SKIMMERS fishing in
marsh channels, as viewed from dune near end of parking lot.  Also
GLAUCOUS GULL still along beach.
Stratford, Short Beach -- 11 BLACK SKIMMERS on westernmost sandbar in
Housatonic River.
05/16/09 - Milford, Milford Point -- 4:30-5:15 pm (high tide), 1000
shorebirds of 11 species, including 3 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS
initially spotted by John Oshlick.

05/16/09 - Stratford, Stewart McKinney NWR -- Tricolored Heron seen
from last observation deck (the one with the scope mounted on it) at
around 3:30 pm.

05/16/09 - Stony Creek -- a Whimbrel feeding along the trolley trail,
seen both Wednesday and today.

05/16/09 - ?????, yard -- CAPE MAY WARBLER singing.  8 COMMON
NIGHTHAWKS.
East Granby/Suffield, Great Swamp and Beaver Swamp -- (HAS group)
Virginia Rail (heard), Black-billed Cuckoo (heard), Brown Creeper,
Golden-winged "type" Warbler (heard), Blackburnian Warbler, Bobolink,
Eastern Meadowlark.

05/16/09 - Bristol -- 7am-9am, Male Bobolinks topping tall grasses.
Can be viewed from Matthews Street.  Bobolinks are in far field and
second field going down Matthews. This is a private property
development so you might have to check it out from the road but it is
close.

05/16/09 - Middletown, Round Hill Rd, Guida Sanctuary -- Hooded
Warbler.

05/16/09 - Milford Point -- 800 shorebirds, 12 species plus 11 Black
Skimmers.
