NOTE 2: Frank Gallo pointed out there is an exralimital report of a
Fork-tailed Flycatcher on Long Island, NY.  Who knows what might have
arrived in CT on the same wind???

09/17/12 - Stratford, Dorne Drive, Short Beach Park -- photographed,
one immature WHITE IBIS.  Photos show it roosting in a tree with
egrets at the edge of the tidal lagoon beyond the tennis courts.

09/19/12 - Westport, Smith Richardson Tree Farm -- Beautiful 1st
winter Blue Grosbeak seen early morning perched out in the open atop a
spruce " tree candle" on the right hand side of the main path about 50
yards down after the entrance.

3 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 13 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 3 SOLITARY SANDPIPER,

Farmington, Batterson Pond -- 4 NORTHERN SHOVELER.

09/19/12 - Rocky Hill, Rocky Hill Meadows -- Buff-breasted Sandpiper
continues.  Also Solitary Sandpiper, Peregrine Falcon, and an American
Golden-Plover fly over and a Dickcissel.  There are lots of rain
pools, so birding should be good until they dry up.

09/19/12 - Madison, Small pond on Horsepond Pond Rd -- 3 SOLITARY
SANDPIPER, 1 WILSON'S SNIPE.

09/19/12 - 7 AM New London to Orient Pt Ferry. in CT waters -- 18
COMMON EIDER near the Harbor mouth (16 on west side & 2 on east). At
24 minutes from dock I had a distant Storm-Petrel species. 1 FORSTER'S
TERN on the way out and 11 on the ride back.

09/19/12 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- 3 White-rumped
Sandpipers and 3 Pectoral Sandpipers in the small marsh on right to
Willards Island.
