behind the fenced-in gas well.

Plainfield, Quinebaug Fish Hatchery -- BLUE-WINGED TEAL (2) and
LINCOLN'S SPARROW.

09/28/13 - Burlington -- two Golden Eagles soaring in circles over the
Village area for several minutes, doing some interesting acrobatics.

09/28/13 - Madison, Hammonasset SP -- CONNECTICUT WARBLER (10:15 AM.
Seen very briefly before vanishing just beyond the footprint of the
missing platform at north end of Willard's Isle.), AMERICAN BITTERN
(9:30 AM. Marsh east of Nature Center parking lot), BROWN THRASHER.

09/28/13 - Salem, 17 Harris Road, yard -- 11 AM; I observed an
Orange-crowned Warbler briefly in with a mixed feeding flock (mostly
titmice and chickadees).  It was on ground and in some flowering
hyssop outside my window overlooking feeders.

09/28/13 - Stratford yard -- adult female CAPE MAY WARBLER low in
white Buddleia Butterfly Bush, first spotted by Linda.  Actually, at
least 3 CAPE MAY WARBLERS fed together in our yard for 1.5 hours. Also
seen, 1 Bay-breasted Warbler, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

bath all afternoon, 1 resident AMERICAN WOODCOCK, 1 SWAINSON'S THRUSH3
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.
Hartford, Riverside Park Pond -- 4 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 3 SOLITARY
SANDPIPER.

-- 2 AMERICAN PIPIT, 12 BOBOLINK, 13 LINCOLN'S SPARROW and 2

Sapsuckers.

for the yard flyover adult PEREGRINE FALCON (#172).

09/28/13 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach SP -- The bill and head of a
very secretive AMERICAN BITTERN was seen by a fair number of birders
in the marsh just east of the Nature Center parking lot in
mid-afternoon.   Although it was quite close to the edge of the marsh
near the parking lot, and also staying in place the entire time, it
only rarely lifted its head up high enough to be detectable.  A few of
us also had a close up view of a PEREGRINE FALCON fly directly
overhead at the north end of Willard's Island.
