Okay, folks. I'm putting put out an APB for 11 additional bodies to join the section -- like, NOW. Accost anyone you know who is already in the ASA -- or plans to join NOW -- and please try to get them to immediately become members of CITASA! Remember: NEW STUDENT MEMBERSHIPS (to the section) ARE FREE TO THE STUDENT!!! This should make students who already in the ASA very easy pickings for us. :) All I need is a student's name and their ASA membership number, if they have it handy. I'll collect all the names and send them in to the ASA and wah-lah! They become members of CITASA, for free, no fuss, no muss! (We cannot reimburse existing memberships, btw.) The ASA is insisting that because we only have 289 members in the section, we can only have two sessions this year instead of our usual 3. They are saying we can have one open session and our business meeting, only. (This second is the session we usually split in two to accomodate roundtables during the first half of the allotted time.) There is no talking reason with them about this. We need new recruits and we need them fast. Please, please. If everyone got one friend, student, colleague, to join -- whoever you see next in the hallway!! -- we'd be in FANTASTIC shape! And I could have a very sweet moment informing the ASA about it. :) Thanks for any help, everyone!
