Tacoma, Wa is home to Phi’s Pottery Studio, a safe haven for many who identify as BIPOC and/or as pottery lovers to learn more about clay. Phi is molding much more than beautiful pots in this studio, they are forming community and confidence in beginners. The beauty of this local business lies within the endless generosity that occurs behind the scenes. Phi’s Studio promotes an equitable distribution of and access to ceramic art for all throughout the Tacoma community. Offering 8-week classes with a sliding scale payment option as well as full scholarships for the BIPOC community. After introducing the idea of a TV Series to social media the overwhelming response birthed The Clay Challenge.
