Greetings, fellow CITASA members!
This is a long overdue hello. My semester started the morning I got back from the ASA, and I had no idea that it would be this long before I got a chance to breath!
I hope everyone who made it to Atlanta had as great a meeting as I did. Our council breakfast meeting and, later in the day, the business meeting in particular was a highlight, given all the people who came forward to volunteer to help the section this year. It warmed my heart. :)
Gustavo Mesch, and Keith Hampton before him, have done a fantastic job getting us in the vibrant shape we're in right now. It was and is a pleasure to thank both of them for all they've done for us. Gina Neff is already brimming with ideas and energy, too, as she ramps up and gets ready to take over as Chair next year.
I'm now in the process of getting our sessions organized for next year's meeting, right here in Chicago -- where it is currently a glorious 68 degree day with a blue and cloudless sky. :)
A reminder: September 30 is the cut-off for the ASA's head count on how many people belong to our section. If you need to renew your membership, please do so. If you know someone who should be a member, please remind them that now is the time to become one! And if that person is a student, we have scholarship funds to pay their section membership dues to the ASA.
Please stay tuned for more to come. I am so looking forward to all we have planned and to seeing as many of you as can make it next August, in Chicago.
Very best wishes,
Chris
