This morning there was a Red Breasted Nuthatch in my yard so I decided to visit Spring Park which is only three minutes away. It is a small park surrounded by development and maybe because of this birds seem to be driven there. Although I did not see any rarities there this morning never the less I came up with an interesting list as follows. Red Shouldered Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker, audio Red Breasted Nuthatch, Ruby Crowned Kinglet, Brown Creeper, singing Hermit Thrush and four warbler species including a singing Louisiana Waterthrush among others. Sort of like the Central Park effect but on a smaller scale of course.
