For the all the folks asking how to find the exact location of Tunxis Restroom at Hammonasset, you might find this interactive map helpful:
https://www.ctbirding.org/birds-birding/birding-maps/
Go to the link and just click on the Hammonasset Birding Map. If using a computer, you can easily search for "Tunxis" in the "reference points." Or scroll down to the bottom of the list, where restrooms are group-listed. Just click on Tunxis for it to be highlighted on the map. You can also use the search tool.
Or you can just scan the map for the restroom icons, which are blue circles enclosing female/male silhouettes. Tunxis is close to the entrance road, directly north of the main rotary and Swan Pond.

Hi All,
Micky’s map is great, and for those who want a direct pin, here it is:
The bird likes this spot but as others have previously noted, it also crosses the entrance road from time to time. It has also been seen near the stream crossing to the north and up to 200 feet to the south.
If you start in the vicinity of the Tunxis restroom and be patient, you are likely to find it. Sometimes it sits still on the inside branches of the cedars, but eventually it will tee up on the treetops.
Good luck!
