Hello everyone,
we are going to try for the Townsend's tomorrow.  Can someone explain
generally where in Hammo the bird is being seen? We are slowly becoming
familiar with the place names in the park, but "Tunxis restrooms"  remains a
mystery.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Here's the Hammo camping map.  It's the first RIGHT as you enter the park, clearly marked for camping.  Park in visitor parking and walk south down the path marked for Tunxis and Podunk restrooms — on the map, it's to the right.  Today, the bird was to the south and west of the restroom building, in the evergreens.  It will call, and the call is distinctive and carrying, familiarize yourself with it, it's the first of the calls in link below..

."The most commonly heard is a high-pitched clear ringing note that they give about 30 times per minute. "
Good birding!
