In this paper, we present a method for determining the number of degrees of freedom of the estimate, which allows the assignment of a confidence interval to a three-cornered-hat stability estimate http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/ptti/ptti2001/poster5.pdf 90th Annual Precise Time and Time Interval (PTTI) Meeting ESTIMATING FREQUENCY STABILITY AND CROSS-CORRELATIONS

On two small lakes in Worthington, Minn., count/estimates of longspur carcasses put the death toll there at 750,000, but given the extent of the weather system some believed several million longspurs perished (source The Winter Bird-Life of Minnesota, a Minn state publication).

Power outage
Tue, May 13, 2014 2:33 PM
I just talked to a rep at CPS and the estimate for our power being restored is 5pm! She said it could be earlier, but that was their most updated estimate. I also requested an investigation as to why we lose power so frequently. Once it is completed they will send a letter. I will make sure to share that info when I get it.

Re: Engine and gears

Your estimate of the efficiency of components is probably too high. Gearboxes are rarely 98 to 99% efficient unless made with watchmaker precision. Marine engineers usually estimate a driveline efficiency of 95%. That's why gearboxes get hot and oil coolers are necessary. Exposed roller chains are messy.
