I'd estimate 300 Dark-eyed Juncos, 150 Song Sparrows, 30 Swamp Sparrows and 20 White-throated Sparrows. Certainly worth looking that flock over more closely. Also present were ~100 American Robins and 2 Hermit Thrushes. An American Woodcock flushed from the bushes behind the maintenance area. Patrick M.

Arne estimated that there were at least 200 Dunlins, and I counted 11 Purple Sandpipers. Sanderllings and Ruddy Turnstones were also present, and it was very satisfying to hear so many birds calling and to see them flying around and foraging. (High tide at Madison was a little after 11:30.) Flo McBride Hamden

I would estimate around 3,000 birds. There were a few Snow Buntings, but their visits are getting to be more intermittent. Bill Wallace reported two White-winged Scoters flying by. Patrick Patrick M.

Geese galore
Wed, Oct 25, 2017 7:37 PM
I estimate there were 2,200 geese in the fields, in three main flocks. I have not relocated the possible pink-footed goose I saw a week ago, but I did ID 3 cackling geese, and one Canada with a speckled white and black head (looked like it was splattered with white paint).

Egg-laying thus is estimated to have begun by ca. February 22-24. The first opportunity for counting eggs in the nest will indicate when egg-laying began, as one egg per day is laid serially up to a maximum of 6 eggs. Also present: 2 adult Bald Eagles in close flight as they circled over Konold’s Pond.

Water in connectors

I just wanted to ask the list of anyone know of/has an estimate of how much the propagation delay on an N and/or SMA can reasonably be expected to change in the presence of water? is 3 ns in the right ballpark, or would that effect be way bigger/smaller?
