I estimate that over 100 people per day are coming. Like the snowy owls, we should give this bird the space it needs to find food. If there is a large group of people, it would be better to stay near the parking area. When groups of people stay just past the info sign in the grass by the river they have gotten excellent views of the bird by the ledge.

If I could estimate how many individuals were present, I would say around 30, a couple of which were flying over the house in small flocks. Most of them were high up in the trees, and left after around five minutes of gleaning.

Grackles will also move with them (in the hundreds of thousands, and at least once recently, an estimated 3 million!).  They look like miles of smoke on the eastern horizon, and it's a spectacle well worth the cold temperatures and the early hour.  I hope you don't get these kinds of numbers at your feeder, that might be inconvenient!
