Re: [volt-nuts] HP 3458A DC current accuracy
Thu, Jul 12, 2012 3:28 AM
Yes, the effect can be estimated quite easily. Also, keep in mind that the 0.13 nV is the RMS noise, so the peak to peak excursions can be around six times that, or almost 1 nV p-p. If the FS is 1 mA, then it's about 1 ppm - one count on a six digit DVM, or ten times more with each additional digit.

Re: [volt-nuts] Some questions to zeners (1N823-1N829)

But that will be a heck of a lot easer than estimating the long term ageing rate of a constant on part that is in an uncontrolled environment to 1PPM / year. For the long term reference part, one thing to consider is to use the average of say 10 aged and selected zeners.

I'm going to make estimates by doing some math later but you couldn't go 2 sec without a Swainson's Thrush, and double-digit Gray-cheek including one higher pitched bird that may have been Bicknell's. We'll see if my iPhone spectrogram image will be enough to distinguish.

Re: [CT Birds] Hammo "improvements"

Estimates were $12 billion on birding trips and $24 billion on equipment with $6 billion going to State tax revenue and $4 billion in Federal tax revenue. 28% of CT folks participate in birding related activities. Is it time to make our voices heard and promote CT as an Important Birding Hot Spot for residents and tourists alike?

Ruff questions
Sun, May 15, 2016 7:52 PM
In May 1985 there were estimates of up to 12 in the area, and on 16 May 1987 I saw one at Pedricktown (white) and one at nearby Stow Creek (chestnut). This event eventually tailed off, but at the time it raised speculation (but no proof that I know of) about a breeding population somewhere in the Canadian Maritimes.
