Thames River Pacific Loon Update
Thu, Jan 9, 2014 10:36 PM
In my estimation, tomorrow may offer a good chance to see the loon from the New London side. When the Loon goes to feed tomorrow morning, it may head upriver and feed between green buoy cans #11 and #9 which can be seen from Fort Trumbull with a scope as recommended by Mr Batsford. High tide tomorrow is at 4:56am and 5:16pm.

All in all, it was a great day! Thank you to everyone who participated in today's fantastic gulling adventure and I look forward to next time.

Re: HP Z3801A project update
Sat, Jan 29, 2022 2:50 AM
The setup is simply measuring the external DC input current and voltage while the process goes, to estimate the input power needed, roughly how much, and when. Only the input P is noted. The total gets used up in running the Z3801A, the other circuits, and conversion losses.

Re: Using NTP Server Time To Measure WAN Performance
Thu, Mar 23, 2023 5:50 PM
Even with 'semi-precision' (NTP) time sync, the one-way delay estimates and one-way loss measurements are quite useful to pin down issues. However it has been designed with precision timing in mind, so with PTP or stratum 1 time sync, it will enable accurate one-way delay and jitter measurement as well.
