Fairfield/Bridgeport Scaup reminder
Mon, Dec 31, 2018 2:09 AM
Please use caution in what numbers of these species you are reporting from Jennings' or Captain's-- make a careful estimate, and if not, enter them as Greater/Lesser Scaup. It's not at all useful to simply enter Greater or Lesser without going through the flock.

Re: NTP servers

With a Linux machine, I would estimate your total time, from plugging in your gpsd mouse to going live to be about 30 minutes, including testing the device, installing and testing gpsd, and installing and configuring ntpsec. This is from upstream packages, if you are compiling from git, add 15 minutes.

Eastern Ontario Pink-footed Goose and Snow Geese
Fri, Apr 7, 2023 4:37 PM
While it is not easy to separate the subspecies in the air by size, the giveaway is the high percentage of blue morphs, estimated by Tony Beck to be about 30-40%. In the flocks of Greater Snow Geese we are seeing only a very small percentage of blues. In recent years, far less than 1%.
