David ---re insurance----make sure the insurance company knows your itenerary as close as you can estimate it not sure what the restrictions are in the US but in CAN---my policy coveres me for the Great lakes and as far south as NY city and east to Que city Iwas going to do the ICW----premium went up about $1000 and I had to be north of NC by June 20th or

Your estimates on gas and dockage are very doable at least in Fl at this time. We travel in a Rinker 270 express and found that by using Boat US membership, Salty Southeast Cruisers and Waterway Guide web sites we could find the best deals and discounts on fuel and dockage.

With full tanks and full provisioning in fresh water we estimate that we are much closer to 5' draft. We have seen 5'6" of water in a couple of places in the channel and we are particular about honoring the markers and watching both of our electronic charting systems. We generally see a minimum of 6' of water in the channel.

UMES to host National Education Conference

University College, Bowie, Coppin State expected to grow a lot

Estimates are 58,004 will attend in 2020 with 52,238 registered part-time at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The system's historically black institutions are Bowie and Coppin State Universities. The third is the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) which ranks second in expected rate of growth at 41.1 percent.

Bowie State University Hosts 2011 Humanities and Technology Association Conference

An estimated 50 participants are expected to attend the conference that will be held in the Center for Learning and Technology. HTA 2011 has scheduled 18 panels covering a wide range of subjects including "The Internet, Youth, and Revolution."
