Tuskegee University breaks ground on new science building

The project is estimated to cost more than $13 million and the LEED-certified building will also feature many energy-efficient mechanical and plumbing elements such as a rainwater harvesting system that will collect water for landscape irrigation and motion sensors that turn off lights when rooms are not in use.

NHPCO Announces Collaboration with Morgan State University

Of all patients utilizing hospice care in 2014, an estimated 7.6 percent were identified as black or African American, which reflects a slight drop from the previous year. NHPCO's strategic plan includes expanding hospice and palliative care access to African American communities where a disparity of care exists.

Fish and Wildlife Service conservatively estimates that four to five million birds may die each year in this manner but that the number could be much higher - up to 40 to 50 million. In one instance, more than 10,000 dead birds were found under a single communication tower in one night.

One well known estimate (Pimentel & Acquay, 1992) suggested that more than 670 million birds are directly exposed to pesticides each year on U.S. farms alone, 10% of which - or 67 million birds - die as a result. Repeated exposure to some pesticides can also lead to sub-lethal effects such as decreased breeding success.
