Re: [time-nuts] moon bounce for synchronization

The frequency offset was estimated from the daily clock measurements. If I remember correctly we got .1 uS accuracy. We had several Rubidium, Cesium and later a H-maser frequency standards and we kept continuous recordings (strip charts) of the phase differences.

You then do this and that to estimate and report how far off it was. > > If you use the actual NTP PPS capture code with a few extra lines of code added, you should be able to timestamp PPS and NTP values against the performance counter. The desire would be to get as far away from NTP evaluating it’s self as possible.

It does *not* have provisions for user adjustment of the disciplining loop, which is fixed at some rather short time constant (I'm estimating roughly 5 sec). So its OCXO is kept pretty honest in the face of ambient temperature variations; however GPS noise jerks it around very considerably. in the short term.

To make a long story short, I ended up with an estimate of 30 to 40 kUSD, with about 10k of additional risk, with the majority being the cost of the JJA. Quite some expense for an in the end academic exercise, so I finally decided to not further pursue this.

instruments calibration is not only based on TIME but the environmental conditions the instrument was exposed to DURING that TIME utilizing an environmental package built in to the instrument continuously monitoring 1.hours power up, 2.temp, 3.humidity., 4.barometric pressure, and 5.vibration shock using an algorithm to providing the user with a real time estimates

You know how much your employee's time is worth, and can reasonably estimate the time it would take on average to process these.

It is estimated that approximately 250,000 of the total statewide student enrollments per academic year will benefit from the project as well. "This is vital in that it can increase the number of minority students that elect to further their education by attending college," she said. Sandra M.

We have estimated that past projects would have costs $25,000 - $45,000. This is a wonderful opportunity for institutions and for our students and a project that I look forward to annually. Please email me (Debbie Hess Norris) with questions at dhnorris@udel.edu.

Re: Extra Lighting

My estimated time on one leg ran down, and even though I could not make out the next lighted range, I executed the turn, and the five vessels following obediently followed around in the turn. VHF bridge-to-bridge did not exist (yep, I'm THAT old); however, we had a tactical net for comms between the six vessels.
